Come join us for a panel discussion from several B2B professionals who will share their insights on The New Public Relations Model. You’ll learn about how social media has changed the traditional landscape of public relations. Best practices as well as pros and cons of using platforms such as Twitter, Facebook and others to communicate with sources will be discussed. You will also learn how to engage with the media with the right stories in today’s environment.

Our Presenters Include:

Marcia Chapman works for Brodeur Partners where she develops and successfully executes on the public relations strategy for clients in markets related to distribution, clean technology, business community development and semiconductors. Prior to Brodeur Partners, Marcia worked as the marketing and outreach coordinator for Kaplan, a provider of educational and career services. In addition, she held public relations positions with ComputerPrep (now ProSoft) and the March of Dimes. She has been awarded a Silver Quill and a Copper Quill in media relations by the International Association of Business Communicators, and a Copper Anvil by the Public Relations Society of America. Marcia graduated summa cum laude with concurrent bachelor’s degrees in English and Broadcasting from Arizona State University.

 
Patrick O’Grady is a reporter for the Phoenix Business Journal and covers technology, sustainability and manufacturing. His focuses vary from large industries such as semiconductors to entrepreneurial efforts. He’s been in journalism in the Valley for nearly 14 years, covering a range of issues and been with the Business Journal for just over a year.

 
Malcolm Atherton is based in Business Wire’s full-service Scottsdale newsroom and works with clients throughout the Southwest. Malcolm joined Business Wire in August 2004, and in 2007 was drafted into Business Wire’s new media specialist team, where he has immersed himself in Web 2.0, social media and all things SEO. On a monthly basis, you can hear him moderate Business Wire webcasts. Prior to joining Business Wire, Malcolm worked in health education, corporate wellness, and healthcare recruiting. Malcolm received his B.S. in Exercise Physiology from Ball State University. He grew up in Farmington, Conn., and now lives in Scottsdale, Ariz. with his wife, two dogs and cat.

 
Chad Graham covers the workplace for the Arizona Republic, where he has worked for three years. Before that, he was News Features Editor of the Advocate magazine in New York. He has also been on staff of the Des Moines Register, the Associated Press and the Hollywood Reporter. He started his career as an assistant spokesman in the U.S. Senate.
